the project
Anne-Valérie Gasc is a French artist whose work often centers around ideas of demolition. For the Crash-Box project, she followed the demolition of several buildings across France. Using high-speed cameras in protective housings inside buildings, she documented explosions and demolitions inside and outside buildings.
our approach
We created an interactive, synchronized map with a timeline and countdown that recorded every demolition and showed in real time who in the world was watching and participating. Created with a WordPress backend and a custom jquery interface.
We support our work through toolbox – a series of digital “magazines” that provide relevant, shareable content that guides and re-inforces our work.
